Overview
From a tight fairway lie or light rough, the Big Bertha 23 hybrid swaps a long iron for a forgiving head with a graphite shaft. The package adds a headcover, and the grip is standard rubber.
The loft and bounce fit a golfer who wants a long iron replacement that launches easily. The forgiveness is rated high, which helps off-center strikes. Head size and lie angle are not given, so fitting detail is thin.
Who it's for
A right handed golfer who wants one hybrid with regular flex to fill a gap in the bag. Left handed players cannot use it, and anyone who wants a full matched set needs to buy more than this single club.
Pros and cons
- High forgiveness rating
- Two year warranty
- Head volume not listed
- Right hand only
- Single club, not a set
Performance notes
A hybrid head moves weight low and back, which helps the ball launch from a fairway lie and tolerate mis-hits. Loft sets the launch angle and distance gap to neighboring clubs, and the graphite shaft holds swing weight down. Regular flex suits moderate swing speeds.
