Overview
Stepping out from the sleeping area into a screened porch is the layout of the Coleman WeatherMaster, a free standing tent with aluminum poles. Step-by-step assembly instructions come in the package.
Separate sleeping and sitting areas help a family manage gear and bugs at the same time, and the sealed WeatherTec construction suits mild-weather trips. The limitation is gaps: the floor length is missing, the weight is not stated, and the listing calls the tent both water resistant and waterproof.
Who it's for
A group sharing a campsite for a few nights who value a covered, screened spot to sit and keep gear dry. Backpackers and cold-weather campers should look at other designs.
Pros and cons
- Rainfly and carry bag included
- Free standing frame
- Floor length absent
- Wet weather wording is inconsistent
- Hand wash only
Performance notes
WeatherTec combines sealing at the seams and floor with a rainfly, and the round shape sheds wind and rain. Aluminum poles form a free standing frame, which can be shifted after pitching. The porch adds a screened buffer between the sleeping room and the outdoors.
