Overview
Not a ready-to-fly toy, this plastic kit builds a model rocket from a sturdy body tube, precision-molded fins and a recovery parachute. Decals and paint let the builder customize it before launch.
A reusable airframe with parachute recovery lets a beginner fly the rocket repeatedly. The kit leaves out engines, so a first flight needs separate Estes engines and gear.
Who it's for
A kid, teen or parent interested in model rocketry as a hands-on science project gets a build and a paint job in one. Flyers wanting a launch-ready package should look at a complete set.
Pros and cons
- Recovery parachute included
- Decals for customizing
- STEM building project
- Reusable body tube
- Engines sold separately
- Launch equipment not listed
- Build time not stated
Performance notes
The engine thrust sends the light body tube upward, and the parachute opens to slow the descent for a safe landing. Straight, glued fins decide the flight path, and the listed height depends on using compatible Estes engines.
