Overview
Baby Trend makes the CV01F00C as a convertible seat that starts rear facing for newborns and later switches to forward facing for bigger children. It installs with LATCH and uses a five-point harness with a choice of height positions.
One seat that covers newborn through a bigger child is the reason to buy it, with LATCH installation and an adjustable harness. The limitation is the sparse listing, since the model gives no padding, recline, side impact or washing information.
Who it's for
Parents who want to buy one seat for the long haul will use the rear-facing and forward-facing ranges in turn. Those who need a carrier that clicks out of the car, or who want to confirm care and safety extras, should look at an infant seat or a fuller listing.
Pros and cons
- Rear and forward facing modes
- Five height positions
- Newborn minimum weight low
- Metal, plastic and polyester build
- Care guidance not listed
- Side impact features undescribed
- Not a carry-out infant seat
Performance notes
Protection depends on a tight LATCH connection, the right orientation for the child's weight and a harness set at the proper height. The five height positions let the harness follow the child's shoulders as they grow. The rear-facing and forward-facing weight ranges decide when the seat is turned.
