Overview
A parent preparing for a baby gets a Chicco seat that faces rear or forward, with a polyester cover and a belt-tensioning lock for the install.
A tensioning lock gives a clear install path, and the two facing modes let the seat follow the child. The limitation is a seat weight that makes frequent moves harder and a width figure that reads as an error.
Who it's for
Households that leave the seat in one vehicle through several stages will use both modes. Parents who share a seat across cars, or who need exact dimensions confirmed, should ask the maker before ordering.
Pros and cons
- Rear or forward facing
- LeverLock tensioning install
- High stated capacity
- Heavy for frequent moves
- Width figure looks unusual
- Latch not listed
Performance notes
The tensioning lock clamps the vehicle belt so the seat is held tight without hand-pulling it, which is the mechanism the name describes. Changing between rear and forward facing means redoing the install for the new direction.
