Overview
Attaching a phone to the included adapter turns this refractor into a camera for the moon, and the angled zenith mirror makes the eyepiece comfortable to reach. The aluminium tripod is adjustable, and the kit packs into a waterproof backpack.
The reason to buy is a full set of accessories in one carry bag for a first telescope. The limit is that the listing gives no warranty, no field of view figure and no tripod height.
Who it's for
Think of a family evening on the porch with a phone on the eyepiece and a child doing the pointing. Someone who wants a larger aperture or a motorized mount should look at heavier gear.
Pros and cons
- Two eyepieces and a Barlow lens
- Zenith mirror for comfortable viewing
- Adjustable aluminium tripod
- Waterproof backpack included
- Warranty not listed
- Field of view not given
- Altazimuth mount has no tracking
- Phone sizes supported unclear
Performance notes
Brightness is limited by the aperture, and the Barlow lens multiplies eyepiece power while dimming the image. The zenith mirror bends the view so the eyepiece lands at a comfortable angle. Phone pictures work best at lower power where the image is brighter.
