Overview
Not a kitchen or tabletop scale, this handheld digital unit hangs the fish from a replaceable hook and reads the weight on an LCD screen. A measuring tape and automatic unit recall round out the highlights.
Weighing and measuring in one handheld tool saves carrying two gadgets, and the three unit settings suit anglers who log catches in different systems. The listing leaves out what powers the scale and whether it includes any batteries.
Who it's for
A recreational angler logging catch weights at the water, in pounds, ounces or kilograms. Tournament use or any setting that requires an approved scale is not addressed by the listing.
Pros and cons
- Handheld suspension design
- Pounds, ounces and kilograms
- Auto unit recall
- Measuring tape included
- Battery type not listed
- Accuracy shown only in grams
- Color listed as orange combo
Performance notes
A suspension scale measures the pull of the fish against its sensor, so holding it still and level matters, since movement from a struggling fish adds error. The readout accuracy sets the smallest step the display resolves, and the capacity sets the heaviest fish it can read. Auto unit recall is described as remembering the unit used last.
