Overview
A built-in cassette mechanism plays tapes and sends the audio to a computer through a USB cable. The included software guides the transfer, with settings for normal and chrome tapes.
The reason to buy is a simple way to turn old cassettes into digital files, with a headphone jack for listening as well. The limit is the setup: the software comes on a CD, which needs a drive or a download from the maker.
Who it's for
A family archive of mix tapes, lectures or home recordings is the target. It also works as a personal tape player with headphones for someone who still has a shelf of cassettes.

Performance notes
The tape mechanism reads the cassette and sends analog audio through the USB connection to the computer, where the software saves a digital file. Tape condition and the tape type setting affect the transfer. Volume controls the headphones and the USB level.
