Overview
Standing on the floor as a tower, this three-way passive speaker drives a large woofer from an external amplifier or receiver. The maker aims it at home entertainment systems with surround sound.
What stands out is raw woofer size and a heavy cabinet for a living room system that wants low-end output. The limit is the data itself: several lines, including wireless and network entries, contradict a passive design and are not relied on.
Who it's for
A listener building a surround setup around an existing receiver, who wants a large woofer in a floor cabinet, can use it as a front channel. Someone who wants a plug-in speaker with its own amplifier or Bluetooth should shop a powered model.
Pros and cons
- Large woofer for low-end output
- Floor-standing tower cabinet
- Stated for home entertainment and surround use
- Long warranty period listed
- Needs an external amplifier
- Sold as a single speaker
- Dimensions in the data look unreliable
- Connectivity data contradicts passive design
Performance notes
A passive speaker has no amplifier of its own, so its output depends on the receiver or amplifier driving it and on the wire between them. A large woofer moves more air for low frequencies, while the three-way design splits the range among separate drivers. Placement matters: floor position and distance from walls change how much bass the room adds.
