Overview
The Astro 3037 is an air-powered sander measuring about 15 inches long, 4 inches wide and 3 inches tall, weighing 2.2 pounds. Its slim, elongated shape points to a long-board style sander built for feathering body filler or paint over broad, flat panels.
Running on shop air rather than a battery or cord keeps the tool light at 2.2 pounds, which matters when holding it against a vertical panel for extended stretches during auto body work. The narrow 4-inch width suggests it's meant for control over long, even strokes rather than fast material removal across a wide area.

Who it's for
Suits auto body and paint prep work where a light, air-driven sander helps level filler or feather edges by hand. Not the choice for anyone without a compressor, since it has no cordless or corded electric option.
Pros and cons
- Lightweight at 2.2 pounds for extended handheld use
- Long, narrow shape suits feathering flat panels
- Requires an air compressor, no cordless option
- Narrow width means slower coverage on large areas
Performance notes
Air-powered tools of this size typically favor low weight and consistent speed under load over the raw power of a corded sander, which suits fine leveling work more than heavy stock removal.
