Overview
DeWalt sells the DWE6423K as a corded random orbit sander with a hook and loop pad and a variable speed control. A dust bag, an owners card and a carrying bag come with the sander.
Variable speed lets the operator match the pace to the material, and the included dust bag and carrying bag mean the kit is ready to carry and use. The limitation is that weight and the disc hole pattern are not listed.
Who it's for
Furniture refinishing, cabinet surfaces and trim work close to an outlet are the typical jobs. Those who sand far from power, or need a vacuum hose port rather than a bag, should compare other sanders.
Pros and cons
- Variable speed control
- Dust bag included
- Carrying bag included
- Hook and loop pad
- Weight not listed
- Disc hole pattern missing
- Cord limits reach
- Coarse grit type only
Performance notes
A random orbit action moves the pad in overlapping circles, so scratch marks are less obvious than with a straight-line sander. Speed, pressure and the grit on the disc together decide how quickly stock comes off, and the dust bag only helps while it is empty enough to let air through.
