Overview
Reading yardage to the flag is the job of this compact TecTecTec laser rangefinder, which magnifies the view and shows the distance in the eyepiece. It comes with a case and a lithium battery, and the plastic body is listed as water resistant.
The reason to buy is that it arrives ready to use, with the battery and a case in the box and a stated warranty. The limitation is the plastic body and a range figure that covers golf but not long-distance hunting use.
Who it's for
A casual golfer who wants a small unit for the bag, with the battery and case supplied, can use it straight away. Players who want slope data or a rugged build should look at other models.
Pros and cons
- Slope mode not listed
- Range shorter than longer-reach models
Performance notes
The laser pulse is timed to the target, so pointing at the flag rather than the background trees decides accuracy. The magnification helps steady the view and find the pin, but a shaky hand still moves the aim point. Water resistance covers light rain and splashes.
