Overview
Not a handheld with a screen: this is a very small Bluetooth dongle that reports to a phone app. It reads check engine codes and enhanced manufacturer data and draws power from the vehicle.
A dongle this small stays out of the way and relies on a phone instead of a separate screen, and both repair and car-buying uses are named. The limitation is information, since app features, subscription terms, supported systems and warranty are not stated.
Who it's for
A car owner checking a warning light or a car they plan to buy. Look elsewhere for hands-on diagnostics or a standalone screen.
Pros and cons
- Enhanced manufacturer data
- Used-car checking use named
- Needs a smartphone
- App terms not listed
- Warranty listed as none
- Supported systems unstated
Performance notes
The dongle reads codes from the vehicle's diagnostic port and sends them over Bluetooth to the app, which interprets them. Enhanced manufacturer data means information beyond the generic set, but the listing does not say which makes it covers. The app features decide how useful the data is.
