Overview
A cabinet shop or hobby bench is where this DeWalt finishing sander settles in, using quarter-sheet paper on a rectangular pad. The listing names a dust bag, a paper punch and an owners manual as included parts.
The paper punch lets you cut sheets to size, and the dust bag collects fine material while you work. The limitation is that grit details conflict and the pad size and orbit style are not clearly described.
Who it's for
Furniture finishing, drawer fronts and flat panels where a small pad reaches corners are the typical jobs. Buyers who sand large surfaces or want a round pad should look at a larger orbital sander.
Pros and cons
- Quarter-sheet size reaches corners
- Dust bag included
- Paper punch included
- Three year warranty
- Grit information contradictory
- Orbit style not stated
- Cord limits reach
- Small pad is slow on large areas
Performance notes
Pad speed and the abrasive on the paper decide how quickly the surface smooths, while a small pad concentrates pressure and reaches edges. The dust bag catches fine particles but works best when emptied before it packs full.
