Overview
Not an adult hobby machine, the OMMO is a children's metal detector with a small search coil, an LCD readout and a shaft that adjusts to a child's height. A battery, a plastic rake and a plastic shovel come with it.
Light weight and an adjustable length make it manageable for a child on a beach walk or a hiking trip, and the digging tools make a complete first outing. The listing is aimed at gifts and play. It gives no detection depth or mode list, so treat it as a toy-grade introduction.
Who it's for
Parents and gift givers looking for a simple way to get a child outdoors will use the adjustable shaft and the rake and shovel. Adults who want serious performance should choose a full-size detector.
Pros and cons
- Adjustable length for a child's height
- Battery, rake and shovel included
- Small coil easy to handle
- Detection depth not listed
- Plastic digging tools are for play
- No stated mode or discrimination features
Performance notes
A compact coil is easy for a child to swing but covers a narrow strip, and the LCD shows the detector's response. Depth and sensitivity are not published, so expect shallow finds in sand or soil. Battery power comes from the supplied 9V cell.
