Overview
Adding height channels to a home theater without ceiling speakers is the point of this tower. An up firing Atmos speaker is mounted in the top of the cabinet, and a Tractrix horn tweeter and graphite woofers handle the main sound.
The Atmos driver saves running extra speakers for overhead sound, and the speaker terminals sit low on the cabinet for a tidy connection. The title says single speaker, and the listing does not say what amplifier or receiver features Atmos needs.
Who it's for
Home theater builders adding Atmos to a front or surround position with a receiver that supports it. Anyone using a plain stereo amplifier or a small room should consider a bookshelf pair.
Pros and cons
- Built in Atmos up-firing driver
- Tractrix horn tweeter
- Long parts and labor warranty
- Magnetic grilles and angled feet
- Sold as a single speaker
- Receiver requirements not listed
- Heavy for its footprint
Performance notes
The horn loaded tweeter directs sound forward with high efficiency, while the rear port extends bass from the woofers. The up firing driver bounces sound off the ceiling to create height effects, so ceiling height and material affect how well it works.
