Overview
A parent with an older child who rides facing forward gets a polyester Cosco seat that is installed with the vehicle seat belt.
A body this light can ride along in a bag or trunk, and the stated capacity is high. The limitation is a listing with no dimensions, no harness description and no minimum child size.
Who it's for
Families with a bigger child and a spare car or a carpool slot can use a seat this light without effort. Anyone shopping for a young child, or comparing by published size, should look at listings that state more.
Pros and cons
- Extremely low listed seat weight
- Seat belt installation
- High stated capacity
- Harness details missing
- Minimum size not listed
Performance notes
The vehicle belt does the restraining, so the seat's role is to position the child so the belt crosses the body correctly. A very light shell has little to hold it down on its own, which makes the belt path and the buckled child the stabilizers.
