Overview
Vaonis builds the Vespera II as a fully digital smart telescope around an apochromatic refractor. There is no eyepiece, and the result is viewed through the Vaonis system on a tripod mount.
Its field and compact tube suit large nebulae and star fields. The included items text is truncated, and the battery line does not state that one is supplied.
Who it's for
A hobbyist who wants guided, digital viewing of large deep sky objects. A traditional visual observer should choose a telescope with an eyepiece.
Pros and cons
- Wide field of view
- Apochromatic refractor optics
- Digital smart system
- Tripod mount listed
- Battery inclusion not stated
- Included items text cut off
- Heavy for a portable scope
Performance notes
An apochromatic refractor focuses all colors to the same point, so stars stay free of color fringes. The short focal length gives a wide view, and the digital system builds the image by stacking exposures rather than through direct viewing.
