Overview
An ED glass objective leads this Svbony refractor, and a coated optical path carries light to a manual focuser. A dovetail plate, metal clamp and objective cover come with the tube.
ED glass is used to limit color fringing, and the short focal length gives a wide field for scanning star fields. The listing names an altazimuth mount but does not say whether a mount is included, and a finderscope is not present.
Who it's for
A hobbyist who wants a travel friendly refractor tube for visual use or imaging with a camera or guide scope. A buyer who wants a mounted, ready telescope should compare full kits.
Pros and cons
- ED glass objective
- Broadband anti-reflection coating
- Dovetail plate and clamp included
- Adapter between sizes included
- Mount not listed as included
- Eyepiece not listed
- Barlow detail unclear
Performance notes
ED glass reduces color fringing at the edges of bright objects, and the coating reduces light lost to reflections. A short focal length gives a wide, low-power view, so high magnification depends on the eyepiece or the Barlow used.
