Overview
A camera on a dedicated mount is the use case for this Askar tube, which has a quadruplet APO lens with ED glass and its flattener built in. A reflex finder is listed, and focus is by hand.
The built-in flattener avoids buying a separate corrector, so stars stay round across the frame. Aperture and weight are missing from the listing, which a buyer would want before choosing a mount.
Who it's for
A beginner astrophotographer who wants a flat field without extra parts. A visual observer should choose a telescope that lists an eyepiece.
Pros and cons
- Built-in field flattener
- Quadruplet APO design
- Aperture not listed
- Weight not listed
- Mount not included
Performance notes
The quadruplet APO design with ED glass limits color fringing, and the flattener corrects the curved focal plane so edge stars stay sharp on a camera sensor. A moderate focal length leaves the field wide and eases tracking demands on the mount.
