A compact brushless grinder for owners already on the DEWALT battery platform, with kickback and clutch protection built in. The listing mixes details from two models, so check the switch type and wheel size before buying.
A light, compact grinder for DIYers and tradespeople doing general grinding and cutting. Its power suits everyday tasks rather than heavy fabrication.
A brushless cordless angle grinder sold without battery or charger, packaged with guards, two wheels and a lock nut wrench. Plan on adding LXT batteries and a charger.
A corded grinder with a strong motor rating and high spindle speed, listed with only power, speed and weight. Wheel diameter, guard and case details are not given.
A capable small grinder for light, intermittent jobs in awkward spots, but it heats up and cuts out on sustained heavy-metal work.
A tough corded grinder for fabricators and contractors who want gear protection when a wheel catches. The rear trigger without lock-on adds control but tires the hand on long cuts.
A well-protected corded grinder for metalworkers and tradespeople who want kickback control and quick disc swaps. Disc diameter appears only in the title, so confirm wheel size before stocking discs.
A corded six inch grinder with an E-Clutch and a no lock-on paddle for safer heavy grinding and cutting. The paddle cannot be locked on, so long grinding sessions mean holding it down.

These 5 angle grinders are the most searched brands and models among the established products in this category (monthly searches for each brand and model); on a tie, the one with more owner ratings ranks first. Product data comes from public Amazon listings (updated 2 days ago). We do not test products ourselves.
Makita, DeWalt, Dewalt, MILWAUKEE, Metabo lead this category among the 7 brands that passed our curation checks.
A listing appears only when it has a recorded price, a minimum customer rating, and enough ratings or monthly sales. Generic and unbranded listings are left out, while every real brand stays, including brands sold only on Amazon. The ones that pass are ordered by how many people search for that brand and model each month; review counts only break ties.
Angle grinders spin an abrasive disc at high speed to cut metal, grind welds, remove rust and paint, and cut tile and masonry with the right disc. The first decision is the disc size, because small grinders are light and easy to control for most household and workshop jobs, while large grinders cut deeper and take on heavy steel and stone.
Power source and motor come next. Cordless grinders are convenient around a car, a fence or a roof, but heavy cutting drains batteries quickly. Corded grinders give steady power for long grinding sessions. Among the 5 products that list item weight, most fall between 1.6 and 5.6 pounds, and 5 pounds is typical. A slim body and a paddle switch are easier to hold safely, and an electronic brake stops the disc quickly after release.
Safety features matter more on this tool than on most others. Look for a guard that adjusts without tools, a soft start that avoids the jolt when you switch on, kickback protection that cuts power if the disc binds, and an anti restart function after a power cut. Variable speed is useful for polishing and for heat sensitive materials.
Before buying, check the disc size, the spindle thread, whether a guard, side handle and wrench are included, and whether a battery comes with cordless models. Use only discs rated for the grinder's speed, keep the guard on, wear eye, face and hearing protection and gloves, and clamp the work rather than holding it.
